About the Founder

Tamieka Sanders
Tamieka S. Sanders is the founder of the Prepared Resilience Initiative Foundation (PRI
Foundation), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit advancing preparedness equity in historically underserved
communities. A FEMA-trained emergency management professional, instructor, and certified
Community Emergency Response Team member, she has supported federal disaster operations
across the United States in logistics, resource coordination, community engagement, field
operations, training, and recovery.
Her work exposed her firsthand to the preparedness gaps that disproportionately affect
families, children, seniors, faith institutions, and nonprofit organizations, especially those with
limited access to training, supplies, and recovery resources. She founded PRI Foundation on a
simple belief: preparedness should never be a privilege. Preparedness saves lives, protects
homes and businesses, and helps preserve the stability and generational wealth that disasters
can put at risk.
Under her leadership, PRI Foundation has expanded its mission through PAVED, senior-
readiness and youth-preparedness programming, and partnerships with faith and community organizations. Tamieka brings an operational, practical, and community-centered perspective to
conversations about housing resilience, disaster readiness, and equitable recovery—helping
communities protect people, property, and opportunity before, during, and after disasters.
